Challenging, yet friendly course
The Willamette is truly a spectacular river. It runs for hundreds of miles and finally takes center stage as it slices though the heart of Portland before it joins forces with the mighty Columbia. Ross Island, just south of downtown, provides a nice loop course for our racers.
Novice and experienced racers alike will love this course for it's relative safety, yet opportunity to use some strategy as paddlers will need to negotiate currents and wind on their lap around the island. And bring the kids! Not only can they get in on the action too, we're staging out of an amusement park! Perfect after-race entertainment!
